My "New Guy"

I am watching Mike for subtle changes that indicate that the 21 year old donor is emerging. What I noticed upon entering his room today is that he was listening to rap music...knew all the words and greeted me with "Yo! Whazup?" I must admit that it started me thinking how I should respond to his possible youthful changes. The big question is should I "play along?", or should I call Bonnie G. to intervene? What I noticed next is that Mike is swaggering when he walks...this is just a little funny as he is still wearing scrubs. Right now, he is watching MTV and singing along. He asked me if I wanted to watch "Real World"...I thought we were living "real world", but he told me that it's a reality show. He said that he can't wait to get out of the hospital and go "clubbing" with me. Don't laugh...he wants ALL OF YOU to meet him, too. I don't think we are going to be able to keep up with this new MIKE...but, I'm sure gonna try and know that you will, too.
Well Friends, thanks for keeping us laughing and making us feel loved. Everyday we thank our lucky stars to be your family and friends.
On a serious note...Mike is doing well. His blood counts are holding, so far. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

Hey Cookie,
We're so happy to hear about Mikey's 21yr old doner. It's great that he's getting some youth in him. I've been worrying about him when he holds his vodka and his head is bobbing while trying to stay awake. Just make sure he wears his pants around his waist as he swaggers down the halls.
We love you both and couldn't be happier about the good news.
You continue to be in our prayers.
Love,
Denise, Neil, Hunter and Connor xx

Dude, So glad that everything is going so smoothly. Bon and I read all the reports with joy . It was a heartbreaking loss last night however. This am I went to breakfast with Bon at Walker brothers and sitting in the next booth was Ben Gordon. when we left I went up to him and told him that they have been doing great and wished him luck on the next game. He looked at me like I had just called him a fucking asshole! In case Cookie hasnt told u your stuck with me next Wed. I can bring any game u want. Well talk before then. Also let me know if u have a taste for any of your processed meats, which I will gladly bring. well thats about all, in case u dont know I type at a blistering pace of about 10 words a minute with at least that many mistakes so this has taken me about an hour and my hand is cramping. We love you and think of you constantly. Let me know if its ok to call cause this typing sucks. luv Bon and rich xxx

I heard from MW that it was another good day. Great to hear that your counts are high and you are doing so well. Thinking of you all the time and praying that each day brings you closer to coming home. By the way, Macy sends her wishes to you. You'll remember her daughter attends our school. She and I were both happy to hear the good news about Jen.

About basketball, I'll watch the Bulls tomorrow and root for them too. If the games continue to be so exciting, it just possible that even Cookie will get involved. Wouldn't that be a miracle? Love, Lanabelle

It's great to hear that things are
going well. Can't wait to hear more
about the new, young, Mikey.
We're still in Palm Springs. We went
to a Japanese restaurant tonight.
Mikey, you'd be proud of me. I don't
know if you remember but you taught me how to use chopsticks. I used them for 95% of the meal!! Then the alcohol kicked in. We
made a toast to your health!
sake bombs!!! Banzai!!!!!

We continue to keep you in our prayers.
